Intro to Ceramics is an introductory course to the ceramic arts.  This semester offers hands-on experience with making ceramic art, familiarity with art vocabulary and concepts, and a broader understanding of the ceramic arts role in contemporary society.  Studio projects will explore hand-building and wheel-thrown techniques.  Historically significant concepts and influences will be presented and discussed with each project.

Extra Credit:

Extra credit may be earned by giving a short presentation of an item of interest pertaining to art.  This could include (but is not limited to) a specific artist that you have researched, a video that is related to an art concept, or an article.  Be prepared to share your item of interest to the class.  Extra credit will be awarded when a link to the item has been emailed to me.  A short description of the item and why you chose it must be included in the email.
